Chestshops and trade laws

Introduction
#

In LibreMC we have our own custom-made in-house chest shop and trade law plugin. This article serves as a tutorial on how to operate it.

Chest shops
#

Buying from chest shops
#

To buy from a chest shop you right click the sign of the shop. You can view the item using the view item button. You can set the multiplier using /wlc set multiplier <multiplier amount>. The way that the multiplier is calculated is so that it’s multiplied with the amount of the item sold. So if the shop is selling a stack (64) of an item with a multiplier of 2x, you would get 128 of that item

Creating chest shops
#

To create your own chest shop, place down a chest in a town and place a sign on it. Then do /wlc set <amount> <price> where amount is the amount of items you want to sell while price is the price of those items.

Managing chest shops
#

Everytime someone buys from your shop, the amount of gold they spend is sent to the shops gold storage, which can be seen and redeemed through right clicking the sign of your chest shop

You can delete and modify your chestshop by right clicking the sign and pressing the delete chestshop button.

Trade laws
#

There exists two types of trade laws: tariffs and embargoes. Only nations can impose trade laws, however they can be imposed on both nations and towns.

Tariffs
#

Tariffs imposed on a government (nation/town) make it so that any member of a nation has to pay extra gold to buy from a chest shop in a tariffed government based on the tariff percentage. This extra gold paid goes to the bank of the nation that is tariffing that government.

A nation leader can impose tariffs using the /wlc introduce tariffs <nation or town name> <percentage>

You can view the tariffs that a nation is imposing and that other nations are imposing on them using /wlc get tariffs <nation or town name>

Embargoes
#

Embargoes imposed on a government make it so that any member of a nation cannot buy from any chest shop, which is under an embargoed town or nation.

A nation leader can impose embargoes using the `/wlc introduce embargoes

You can view the embargoes a nation is imposing and that other nations are imposing on them using `/wlc get embargoes

Upkeep
#

Every trade law requires upkeep. The upkeep costs depends on both the total foreign trade volume of a nation and the type of trade law. Here are the formulas for the upkeep:

Tariffs: ceil(total_foreign_trade_volume * tariff_percentage / 30) + 15 Embargoes: total_foreign_trade_volume * 5 + 100

The upkeep is paid everyday by the nations bank. If the nation doesn’t have enough gold in the bank it will fall into insolvency

You can view the upkeep that a nation has to pay using /wlc get upkeep <nation name>

You can see when the upkeep will be paid by using /towny time

Insolvency
#

Insolvency is a state where a nation cannot introduce new trade laws and any existing trade laws become inactive until their insolvency gets paid. A nation member can view their nation’s insolvency using /wlc insolvency and pay it in full using /wlc insolvency pay After a nation becomes solvent again, it can introduce new trade laws and it’s existing trade laws become active again
